For the past 6 months, ClearWhiteLight has been calling me a troll on a weekly basis, and expressed an intense dislike of me. Ask magrpie4ever99, who is ClearWhiteLight's good friend, but he won't lie for him, I'm sure.
As soon as I saw that ClearWhiteLight was made a moderator, I believed he would try to use it against me.
I have just received this message from ClearWhite Light.

Just to let you know I shall be moving the thread about Best Decade for Films from the Have Your Say section to the Arts section.
Nothing wrong with the thread and no slight is intended upon you as a forum member. Simply basic housekeeping across the forum and to encourage members to post in the desired subject sections.

As I have stated, ClearWhiteLight has been calling me a troll for the past 6 months, on a weekly basis. If you ask me why, I can only anser that he WRONGLY thinks I'm a wind-up merchant, and my support for Mike Ashley has got up his nose.
Unless my message is returned to the Have YOur Say section in the next 24 hours, I will be leaving the new forum.
I have kept this entire message, so that if it is deleved in the next 24 hours, I will post it back again.
If I cannot post it back again, I'll make sure it is known to those whose opinion matter to me.
I repeat, ClearWhiteLight has been calling me a troll frequently for a long time, and it comes as no surprise to me that he has taken action against one of my threads just a few days into his time as moderator.
And, as I said, unless it is returned to its place in the Have Your Say section, I will leave the forum.
I am on facebook with my best ffriends on the forum, and on skype with one of them. That will do for me.

Ok Nick-I hear you.
And I hope you will please listen for a moment.
When Clear was invited to be a mod we did so in the interests of the forum.He immediately made us aware that there had been issues between yourselves in the past.And our response was that this not need be an issue as there are four mods-three of whom have no such past issues and one of whom is completely independant from the EC.
The decision to move the movies thread was not taken by Clear alone precisely because there was a concern that you may feel that this was a personal dig.
It was discussed by all four of us and in all honesty I felt that there was no issue in moving it.I know weve got loads of new sections and I get a bit behind where things should be.
Other threads have been reshuffled in an effort to get things right but it takes some getting used to.
No moderator on here takes action without consulting with the others in the interests of fairness and impartiality and that is also why I asked a mod from another site to join us.
Nick-I truly do not wish to see you leave our forum-you are a valued contributor and I very much hope you read what I have to say and realise that any decision to move your thread was not made on a long running dispute between you and Clear.
The thread Im leaving in the arts section because its the right place really.

Thanks for the info, Shadow, but I can't see what difference it would mean.
I've often thought it was a blessing in disguise that the Chron forum was removed as it meant I got to know you lot better, and we're on facebook together.

Let me get this stright a forum mod moves a thread to the relevant part of the forum and the author threatens to leave Im sorry Nick but i cant see your problem . I dont know of any forum that doesn't move threads around  |

Nick,
I know of the history you two share and at times I have been pulled in the middle.
But I can don't see much wrong he has done. CWL is only doing his job as a moderator and knowing the man as a friend I can tell you he'll do it fairly and to the best of his ability.
Nick, I know you had a tough time on the EC forum and I sympathised with you a lot of the times. I hope you don't leave this forum as this will be a new beginning for us all. This forum has such good vibes.
Whatever CWL says I don't want you off the forum and without having spoken to him I'm sure he wants the same.
I would only urge you to be calm and think with a calm head.
By the way which community are you on Facebook? I'm on there quite a bit during match days? PM me if necessary.

Nick, moving the thread was not intended as a slight against you, it was just in the wrong section!  We created "The Arts" section specifically for things like that, TBH, it was an oversight on my and shadows part that it hadn't been already moved!!  CWL suggested moving it for the above reason (wrong place) and we agreed. He did, as shadow said, make us aware of the slight problems between you, but I'm sure things can be sorted without you leaving. We value all our posters and don't want to see anybody going!!!!

Ann I can read CWL's excuses for moving the thread, he wrote them to me. you don't have to rephrase them.
But it honestly doesn't matter.
I was perfectly content to be on facebook with the forum members I mentioned, and I will be perfectly contented in that situation.

Nattfare, yes there's a reason for my reaction.
Whether you think that reason is that CWL only did it to flex his muscles in my direction, or whether you think the reason is that I'm a melodramatic drama queen, isn't the point.
The point is, there is a reason.

Why are you being awkward about this Nick? Would you be as intractable if it had been me or shads that moved it? Because we would have done when we'd got our act together!! Moving the thread has nothing to do with your "trouble" with CWL. Moving threads is what we do if we think they are in the wrong place. I'm afraid we cannot move the thread back to Have Your Say, and if you feel you cannot stay because of this, then all I can say is I'll be sorry to see you go.

I can see that it must look like that to you nick All I can say is that at the time that clear joined as a mod the only bloody thread in the wrong place at that time was the film one started by you-and in all honesty had I picked up on it I would have moved it myself.Worst thing is-if I had I imagine you wouldnt have taken it personally. Being transparent here-as mods we did have a discussion about whether or not Clear should be the one to move it.We had concerns that precisely what has just happened would happen.But to be effective on here Clear needs to be able to move threads regardless of whom posts them and I dont think it realistic that he cant move a thread because it happened to be started by yourself.As I said-Clear made us aware of what had gone on in the past,and it was fully discussed before that thread was moved to the appropriate section. I understand that you have concerns about being treated fairly on here and all I can do is try to re-assure you that you will be. Please take a moment to think about things and have some faith in us. |
