Not sure if it's just a complete waste of ink, be it virtual or real, however the good old football media appear to have latched big time on to the possibility of The Toon taking Wilfried Zaha on loan come January. That speculation, which for me appears extremely OTT given that the player is hardly doing himself justice at Manure and totally out of favour with Moyes, begs the question do Newcastle actually need him?
Now I appreciate he was on Newcastle's transfer radar some twelve or eighteen months ago and is fancied by APee, however once Fergie The Red Nosed Scotsman came calling The Mags hopes of signing him permanently, abruptly ended. So what is it that has rekindled our Clubs interest? The kid has talent, but is struggling to come to terms with Premier League football so no wonder Moyes wants him at another Club in the division to gain experience. Which of course raises the next issue, will he be guaranteed games, who will make way for him should he actually arrive and is Zaha better than what is already here? I asked that last one before the most crucial aspect of how much will it cost to bring him to SJP, simply because I'm only interested in how good he may be should the lad be selected to play in the side, as anything else is secondary in my view. One thing for sure this loan is nothing like that for Remy. The idea of Zaha taking up a place on the bench or getting valuable game time in front of one of Newcastle's own kids, like say Campbell, knowing he heads back to Manure come the Summer doesn't in my mind make this kind of deal appealing. That's before I even start to look at who he will be up against to get into the side. Had the lad been a big strong centre forward in the Lukaku mold I probably would have less reservations. However, as it stands I just don't believe he is what we need as an addition to the squad come January and if a player of his kind is required then our Director of F*ckall should go and broker a deal for Tom Ince from Blackpool or better still try to steal Lallana from Southampton.

Lights Oot!
