Aye Jazz-its reckoned theres about 500 in this country with only between 100-300 breeding mares in existence.

I really envy you seeing them in the wild-must have been a wonderful sight.

When we had the small herd it was so uplifting to see them.

Unfortunately our native horses seem to be steadily in decline

Cant remember the last time I saw a shire horse-used to be a fabulous sight to see the brewery horses being taken to the fields for their summer holidays kicking up their heels

Progress is one thing-but so sad to realise what we lose in the process

Found this Poplar Hawk Moth on our outside window ledge this morning. It seems to be settled for the day....enjoying the sun I think!

Just come back from that bastion of social death ;D and it's moved to the brickwork!! There is a bit of a breeze here, and it's clinging on like grim death! It looks just like a dead leaf, which is what I thought it was, when I first saw it this morning!!! apparently that is what it relies on for camouflage!!

The baby foxes are out and about We saw one of them last night, it was only the same size as Munchkin!!! He was gorgeous, there are about 5 of them, so we'll keep our eyes open
