Quick post before head out to watch game.... Anita in for Shola with Cisse and HBA on bench. Van Persie back for Manure, bit of gamble there I think from Moyes. Probably as good a time as any to get the forty odd year old monkey off our backs by winning at their place. Incredible to think I was there last time we bloody won FFS! Enjoy the game, if that is possible given our record at Old Trafford. Lights Oot!

I have to say what an amazing result. I blame Pardew for getting it right! Well done to him and the team but then you have to think its 41 years since we last won there how ridiculous is that! ATB Capt, you've managed to point oot the dark cloud in our silver lining today but I like yer consistency on blaming Pardew Hey I saw yer picture on THAT other page with a real STUNNER man.............Howay!

APee and his team managed to do something that no one since Joe Harvey in 1972 has achieved at Old Trafford, win! Lee, Dinnis, Charlton, McFaul, Smith, Keegan, Dalglish, Gullit, Clarke, Robson, Souness, Roeder, Pearson and Hughton all failed. Must admit the scenes at the end of the game were worth the wait with the manager, players and most of all those amazing members of The Toon Army all showing the passion we associate with our Club. Another message sent to our most benevolent owner Mikey you just can't buy that kind of devotion off the shelf. By contrast the Manure fans looked completely lost, very quiet and unable to believe what they were seeing happening in front of them. Watching many of them leave well before the end was a real bonus and made the victory all the more sweeter. In 72 as a young lad having missed the ill fated Hereford replay the previous week I went to Old Trafford not expecting much to be honest, but it still remains one of my all time favourite away days for obvious reasons. Been there several times since always coming away disappointed barring one draw which actually felt like a win. Never thought it would take 41 years for a repeat of 72. I recalled Stewie Barrowclough scoring but for some reason or other always believed Mickey Burns got the other one, when in fact it was John Tudor, although no idea why as Burns didn't arrive until 1974. APee will probably never be held in the hearts of Toon fans like Keegan, however with victories like that of yesterday he may well be remembered as having given The Mags some of their pride back despite the efforts of the owner to eradicate it completely. Lights Oot!

Reports from a social media site has Wor Canny severely under the weather this am. Yesterday's stunning performance had me and the lad reminiscing of the famous 5-0 drubbing by "the entertainers" which we witnessed via satellite feed with our sons oh those many years ago. Unfortunately our hero thought he could celebrate like he did those many years ago and has posted something this am aboot the "hair of the DOG"............oh dear!

Being the "lacky" for the technically challenged one has it's screw ups from time to time. I have been informed by the vertically challenged one that the previous picture posted of Canny and Jr Canny was the pre manure match picture and this picture is the post match photo. Perhaps this can be explained by instructions given yesterday by a Geordie who thought he was doon the "Bigg Market" with other Mags post match. Now that he's sobered up he has pointed oot the error of my post..................
