Messed about for their goal, but all in all a well deserved win against The Baggies who have in recent years been bit of bogy side. I'm the first to acknowledge give any manager or player a ready made excuse as to why the team don't perform as hoped for and they will take it. That said there is one significant difference between the kind of performances we are seeing from The Toon this season than the previous campaign, namely no mid week European games to contend with. Appreciate it may have no bearing what so ever on results and it's certainly not something I'm advocating is making the difference when it comes to getting points, however it could easily be interpreted that way. Certainly when you look at the results of both Swansea and Spurs following their travels. While Wigan have just parted with their manager Owen Coyle this weekend following 23 games in charge and a 3 - 1 home loss (third one in nine days) to Derby. Not that I care much what happens to Dave Whelan's pie eaters as no love lost there after events of last season. Anyone else have a view on this? Lights Oot!
