There will never be a team as long as Ashley owns this club. What we have is a collection of players bought for as little as possible to sell on for as much as they can get, f@ck the fans, in fact f@ck the whole City and area as well. You know what the most frustrating part of that is (other than all of it)? It's not even the Chelsea's and Manchester Blue or Reds and Madrids and PSGs that make this annoying...it's the freaking Southamptons...teams that have an identity on the field and vision in the front office, that isn't afraid to spend when the right opportunity comes along...a team that goes from League 1 to the Championship to the Premier League to a not-far-fetched Top 8-10 finish in a 4 year period, with lots of young talent all maturing together, supplemented by veterans to plug holes and push toward the next level...and it's not just them, there are plenty of teams like them...it's just that Newcastle never is...and won't be under this regime... Agreed SM!! ATB

Having seen that match ( i use the word broadly) it is no coincidence that Man C are top of PL whilst we are propping up everybody else. And the worst thing is that I'm afraid this gap will just continue to widen. What would I give for a Man City player? - ANY single one of them!!!
This regime simply has to go - ASHLEY, PARDEW, KINNEAR, CARVER, STONE and anyone else remotley connected to team matters. Out quickely and let's get our club back on track.

Even without the self inflicted madness of Saylor all last nights result proved again is that if you want quality then you have to pay the going rate. The Citeh squad has cost a large fortune to put together and here is the amount spent to acquire the latest additions so far... Season 13/14 Jesus Navas £22,900,000 Fernandinho £30,000,000 Álvaro Negredo £20,600,000 Stevan Jovetic £25,800,000 Zacharias Faour £400,000 (got to be honest here and say this one did give me a laugh) Total £99,700,000 Hells teeth even the other two subs Garcia and Nasri used last night cost £16m and £22m respectively. By comparison our most benevolent owner has spent £2m on an injured loan player hopefully for a season and that's if he doesn't end up getting a jail term for rape. Lets face it guys The Toon are highly unlikely to be competitive under this regime at the level Citeh are currently and like it or lump it are in the same boat as quite a few Clubs. Simply making up the numbers while trying to avoid a relegation dog fight and not go bust in the process. Without a complete top to bottom clear out and staggering amount of money to make it happen I don't see a lot changing anytime soon. Despite possibly appointing a new manager, coaching staff or dare I say it even another Director of Feckall the outcome is leaning heavily towards ending in more failure rather than some kind of limited success. This one result doesn't make our season it's more as Fairsy points out just another further widening of The Gap between the haves and the wanna be's. Lights Oot!

as long as fans turn up, pay entry/season tickets, buy merchandise, and the cash rolls in, things will stay the same.

as long as fans turn up, pay entry/season tickets, buy merchandise, and the cash rolls in, things will stay the same. Jamie Carragher said it about Arsenal and Wenger but it applies probably moreso at SJP. "Wenger won't overspend at Arsenal. The only ones overspending at Arsenal are the fans."

Fairsy I'm not sure even that much used statement above applies anymore regarding Clubs. These are the attendance figures for games in the 1st week of this seasons Premier League campaign. August 19th, 2013 Team, Attendees, Full Capacity 1 Arsenal 60,003 - 60,362 2 Manchester City 46,842 - 47,405 3 Liverpool 44,822 - 45,276 4 Sunderland 43,905 - 48,707 5 Chelsea 41,374 - 41,798 6 West Ham United 34,977 - 35,016 7 Norwich City 26,824 - 27,224 8 West Brom 25,927 - 26,445 9 Crystal Palace 23,285 - 26,255 10 Swansea City 20,733 - 20,745 Not a single sell out among all of them and perhaps no surprise that the one which came closest to achieving it has the lowest capacity to fill, ably assisted by the fact they were playing last season's champions Manchester Utd. Also there's a huge disparity between Clubs regarding income from ticket sales. Which is probably why the Arsenal jibe is so true for them, but not necessarily for others. I also believe too much is made of merchandising and that aspect of income generation. Yes money is made from shirts sales and the like, but pales in comparison to the real money earners of advertising sponsorship and TV rights. If Clubs had to rely purely on putting bums on seats many would go bust immediately. Lights Oot!
