It's been an interesting couple of days for me trawling the internet looking through the usual mixture of assorted unsubstantiated rumours, pointless speculation and other crap associated with NUFC, trying to find a topic worth creating a thread about. Mainly because so little of it actually comes from inside NUFC's press office or quite frankly is just so far fetched it is beyond belief never mind having the most tenuous element of truth to it.
So it was a surprise to read a piece from The Mag about NUFC's Academy obtaining Category One status, but no official announcement by The Club itself.
Given the fuss made about it previously in our local rag the Ronnie Gill and the amount of money chucked at it in the hope of producing the next Pedro, Gazza or even a Saylor you would think it was worth announcing as a positive result. Certainly as a contrast to the negative stuff regarding the appointment of a new Director of Football and the current shirt sponsor.
Perhaps the media people at Gallowgate Towers are still too busy preparing the answers to the questions raised following the meeting with various supporters groups. Now that lot should be worth reading and creating a thread about.....
