It'll be good to see the old gates back where they belong Fairsy, although not sure they have picked the best site for them (outside the Milburn reception)!

I remember touching the gates for luck on my way up to the Leazes end as a kid (corner of Barrack Road / Strawberry place -when I wasn't trying to sneak ower the waal ). This set replaced those in 1993 at the Leazes corner (I think).

Good to see that they will be restored before taking pride of place at start of next season, but didn't SJH take them down for that very reason back when the cathedral was being "extended"? Seems to me that all that went oot the winda when the FCB started hoyin' his money aboot!!
