I'm now back home....bit worse for the dog however one very satisfied Mag... My old boss heading back South with his pals still trying to figure out how they lost. Forget about cliques and trouble in the dressing room it isn't part of the plan. Les Lads have bonded big time and no mistake. Cabaye the major Toon play-maker..... left or right foot, long or short passes, he has it all and once Colo leaves must be our next skipper. Gouffran, this lad really impressed me today.... very direct, knows how to play and works his socks off. One of those every team needs... No superstar but the rest of the team appreciate what he brings to the side. No step overs, no show boating, just hard graft and makes himself available to fellow players. Didn't score today yet deserved to be on the winning side. Jonas, another who love him or hate him just gives everything to the cause. Got his deserved reward today with the opening goal and certainly benefits from having a few players of real quality supporting him. The back four are again starting to look the part as a unit if not always because of individual strength or ability. Debuchy and Santon work the wings like they were born to it. Saylor and Colo keeping it tight although sometimes on a knife edge. With Krul behind them making some amazing stops to keep us in the game. Perch like Jonas is another who many will wonder how he gets a game, however the lad does his stuff to the best of his ability. Certainly on today's performance no worse than Mr T even if he doesn't appear to know how to pass the ball forward. Plays it simple although still gives the ball away too much for my liking. Then again so does Tiote. How Cisse did not come away with the match ball from today's game is a mystery. He must start hitting the back of the net soon and take the scoring chances his team mates are providing. That said he had a decent enough game, but I would love to know what was going on between him and Cole as Chelski got their second of the game. Superb play and goal from Mata. Regardless of the goal the dispute between the two players looked very heated and not helped one bit when Terry made his presence felt. One to watch out for in match reports I think.... Finally I come to Sissoko.... This Lad is the real deal and an absolute steal for less than £2m. Having watched him from afar for over a year, never believing Newcastle would ever sign him, I just can't believe he is now in our team. Touch, power, pace, strength and a self belief to drive his team mates to an extra level, the lad has it all! Two goals today and I reckon that is just the start of what he is capable of producing. Forget about Demba Ba The Toon Army have a new hero to adore. Great game, amazing atmosphere and rounded off with the bulk of 52,000 Geordie's on their feet, screaming their heads off, willing their side on to victory, until the final whistle was blown. Simply breath taking and one to savour..... TV highlights will not do it justice! Allez Les Lads..... Toon, Toon, Black and White Army........F**k me my head hurts, but bloody hell it was worth every penny! WL

Great right up WL, your enthusiasm along with the rest of the Toon army that witnessed it live has spilled out onto your page. Canno wait to add Benny to the mix! After such a dismal start to the season we have lots to look forward from this group. HWTL

Very impressive display yesterday. WL has already summed it up well enough. Many fans compare Gouffran to Obertan and say that they are similar players. Too me though Gouffran has everything Obertan doesn't have (Obertan has more pace but that's all). Yoan doesn't make those pointless stepovers and instead looks for passes and combinations where Obertan always makes his outside of the boot flicks that always goes astray. He doesn't let himself get bullied by other players like Obertan does either. Originally this wasn't meant to slate Obertan but to say that Gouffran is everything Obertan isn't... I guess that makes him into a major upgrade over him. Sissoko? He is easily a top four player. Has it all. All the physical atributes, strength, height, pace... seeing him outrun Ashley Cole like that was a real highlight! But he has skill on the ball and great vision too. Feels like a complete player to me. He has definitely given the team a big lift in just two games. Pardew needs to get Mbiwa into the team fast though. He will be very important next season if Coloccini leaves.

From a footballing perspective it was a fantastic game today, good performance from both teams but Newcastle edged it over the 90 minutes.
Sissoko was sensational, what a player we have there. I was struggling to work out our formation, but he seemed to be everywhere. I did feel we were lacking in the centre of midfield in the second half, there were times where we had 3 Chelsea men bearing down on Perch who was sat in front of the back four with no other midfielders to be seen.
Cisse - what is wrong with this lad? I was so hoping he'd get on the scroresheet again today but he seems to get everything wrong at the moment, he's either offside, seems incapable to strike a clean ball, his passing is woeful, he pulls out of challenges. I just want him to get some confidence back. If the team can keep performing like this and he keeps getting the chances he's getting let's hope he can turn his season around.
Gouffran I thought was extremely impressive, getting his body back in defence when we needed it and broke with good pace on the counter. Showed some skill, awareness, pace and delivery... a great buy I think.
Cabaye is absolutely sublime, I can't wait to see Benny back in the equation.
Good to have Saylor back, he was playing way too deep at times but put in a good shift. Would really like to see Mbwia get some game time, I have a feeling he maybe better than Saylor.
Oh and a brilliant performance by Santon, he's been criticised a lot this season, but it just goes to show when you have some better players around you, it enables you to play your game with confidence.
Final word - Why does Krul always have to hoof the ball, he really frustrates me, he is a football player is he not? So play it out of defence once in a while!
But great win, great performance, fantastic match

I think Cissé is improving. He looks like a different player with Sissoko and Gouffran. He's getting to the chances more now than he did earlier in the season. When it comes to the offsides he was offside just as often last season only no one wanted to complain then since he was banging the goals in. Nor was anyone complaining about his general play either.
To me Cissé is a pure striker. There's only one place where he is really good at and that is in or around the box. His technique has never been that great. Neither has his passing been before. His only contribution to the team is that he is a goal scorer... at least when he is in goal scoring form. Otherwise he becomes more of a burden to the team.
But I still want him to play and that he figures out how to score again. He always takes direct runs. Sometimes he makes them too early, sometimes the pass doesn't come fast enough. But he's always there, sniffing up the chances. Always running into the box when a shot comes to dive on the deflections.
He also had a very well layed pass to Gouffran on the goal yesterday.
I agree with CL on Cabaye. He should be the new captain next season.
