Only thing they've got in common is that both are made in the oven. Lax is Swedish for salmon, kål just means cabbage (not to be mistaken for kol which means coal). Kålpudding is a big cake of rinced meat with cabbage on top of it that is baked in the oven. Usually you have potoes, brown sauce and lingonberry jam to it.  |
