Given the time it's taken The Toons Director of Feckall to bring new players in without actually achieving that task some of the reports this morning make interesting reading. Appears Villa and Fulham may have fallen out over Bent.....shock horror! Gomis deal still up in the air somewhere over The Channel. Remy deal just gets more crazy by the day as QPR now reported as wanting The Toon to pay the guys £80k a week in wages while he is on loan for a season. Most interesting for me above that lot are the transfer links involving signing Tom Ince and James McCarthy. I would take both now if offered before a striker and should Joe Feckinere pull those off I will truly be gobsmacked. Lights Oot! I'll be gobsmacked if the Joke pulls off ANY sodding deals lads..........who in his right mind destroys the deal for a player we've been chasing for years(Douglas), just because he "hasn't heard of him".......on a bleeding FREE too..........complete knob!!!!!!!!

I did see a number of reports last night about this but never got around to posting any of them. Anyway the top and bottom of it is that Newcastle United have reportedly been offered a chance to sign veteran striker Samuel Eto’o in a cut-price £5m deal according to several sources. The 32 year old is one of a number of players (possibly the whole squad) Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala are looking to offload as the club look to make significant cut-backs after investing huge sums in recent seasons. Eto’o has during his career been one the world’s most highly rated footballers, which probably explains him currently earning an incredible £350k a week at Anzhi. It goes as read that under our most benevolent owner the Mags will not pay the Cameroon international anything like that sort of salary, however they have been offered the former Barcelona & Inter Milan man for just £5m so a deal may appear to be a gamble worth taking. Time is running out to get transfers sorted and Joe Feckinhere is rightly under pressure to bring players through the door quickly with Loic Remy from QPR on a loan deal the only first team squad addition to date. Having a player of Eto’o's stature would be a massive statement of intent and one that Newcastle's Director of Feckall may well consider. A quick look on wiki tells you all you need to know about Samuel Eto’o. He first emerged on the scene at Real Madrid, however having struggled to make the grade at the Bernabeu was moved on to Real Mallorca where he started to develop his craft. With a not so prolific 69 goals in five seasons he somehow earned a move to Barcelona where he well and truly put himself on the map as one of the deadliest finishers in world football. At the Nou Camp Eto’o racked up 129 goals in 201 appearances, helping the Catalan side to three La Liga titles and two Champions League triumphs. A move to Inter Milan saw Eto’o scored 53 goals in two seasons during which time he helped the San Siro side to a historic treble under the guidance of Jose Mourinho before a move to Anzhi in August 2011. Even though I would take this guy in the side any day over Stroller I just don't see it happening as the player is so far outside the transfer strategy Mikey appears to believe in. That said I would be both delighted and amazed should he actually turn up at SJP. Lights Oot!

With Joe Feckinere reported over the weekend as making a Eurostar trip across the Channel there are now a number of follow up rumours linking The Toon with Genk striker Jelle Vossen. With Newcastle pulling out of the transfer to sign Bafetimbi Gomis the spotlight has turned to other possibilities, of which Vossen appears to be one. At 24 years of age, Vossen has spent the whole of his senior career at Genk, apart from a short loan spell with Cercle Brugge, scoring over 75 goals at a strike rate of better than one in two in the Belgian Pro League. The player has also represented Belgium all through the youth levels, from U15 to U21, and has won 11 caps for the Belgian senior side, scoring twice in Euro 2012 qualifying in home matches against Austria and Azerbaijan. Newcastle are rumoured to be making an £8.5 million bid for the 5ft 11in striker, however IMO if you believe that you will believe anything. That aside however his 14 league goals in 21 appearances last season is a good record, and Vossen netted 24 and 27 goals respectively in the two campaigns prior to that. Whether he can bring that kind of form into the Premier League is another thing entirely, but the lad does fit the kind of profile the Club appears to like buying these days. After the Gomis farce, nothing much to do other than wait and see if Joe Feckinere can bring this one over the line, through the door or whatever other cliched statement will be in further press reports... Lights Oot!

I nicked this from the Ronnie Grill
He,(Pardew) told the Chronicle: “It’s important that I know where he, (JFK) is on the transfer front and I know what chances we have of securing one or two others.
Canny gave me a page that translates English to Geordie so I plugged it in and you what I got in Geordie?
"yer F*cked"..........smart page that one is............................................

Not content with buying up a load of French players The Toon now appears to be turning it's attention to next door neighbours Belgium as it's being reported Newcastle are ready to revive interest in Ajax centre-back Toby Alderweireld. According to previous Chief Exec Decka Lyingbas***ds favourite rag The Dail Snail rivals Everton and Norwich have also made enquiries for the Belgian while Spartak Moscow have bid £5m and offered wages of £60,000 a week. God only knows what The Toon will offer... Meanwhile The Daily Star among other media sources has reported a real gem of a story involving Alpha Papa challenging his Newcastle squad to become ‘History Boys’ this season by finally ending the club’s 44-year wait for a major trophy. On top of that on the web you can read other wonderful sound bites such as our manager saying he is determined to make teams fear making the journey to St James' Park once again. Not sure about the opposition but I'm fearful of what I may witness this time around. "I think last year the bottom line was we were not threatening the goal enough," Pardew was quoted as saying by The Mirror. With our only signing so far an injured striker on loan and due a court appearance in September on a rape charge The Toon's goal threat could be even worse than last season, when at least for half of it Ba was in the side. "If you're not threatening the goal enough, teams get a little bit more confidence, they score against you and start to believe that if they score, they will win. Well he has got that bit right as more often than I would have liked they did score and win! "Therefore, not only are you suffering from a lack of confidence, you are suffering from an over-confident opposition, whereas the year before everyone was fearful of playing us because the results, home and away, were excellent. "We need to get the fear factor back and to do that you need to threaten the goal." The Fear Factor is back all right....FFS! Plenty of fans think we will be fighting relegation again and a ball hasn't been kicked yet in a league game. Not only should every Toon supporter get a health warning before each season I reckon the World at Large should be told there's distinct possibility of further increases in Global Warming because of the huge amount of bullshit written about NUFC. Lights Oot!

More interesting snippets regarding The Toon floating about this morning... According to The Metro (free paper not the transit system although it may well have originated from there) Newcastle United are ready to swoop in for Italian striker Alessandro Matri. The 28-year old striker has been made available by Juventus and The Toon have apparently contacted his agent declaring interest. Everton and Sunderland are also said to be interested in Matri and the rumored price tag is £6 million to get him from Juventus. Matri nearly joined Napoli a month ago, but the deal collapsed and now leave Juventus looking to get him off the books. £6m for a twenty eight year old is I believe about the limit for this kind of deal although given Feckinere's track record to date still probably too much to pay. Next up from NUFC.com comes speculation from North of the border that our most benevolent owner is going to increase his stake in Rangers and buy them outright after selling NUFC. After previous claims of interest from Asian, Russian and Arab-based investors, the rumoured purchasers of United this time round are from the USA. Has UnCanny won the state lottery perhaps? Meantime The Mirror quote that fountain of all knowledge when it comes to NUFC the ubiquitous source close to the Club to inform us that APee is fearing the axe, under huge pressure and basically looking over his shoulder for the knife! Topping that lot off is that Pardew has admitted he fears losing Paris Saint-Germain target Yohan Cabaye at the end of the transfer window and having no time to replace him. Who would be a Football Manager eh!? Not content with stating the obvious with some lazy journalism you also get another laugh from the same source. This time it's about news coming in this morning that Liverpool are on the verge of signing Willian from Anzhi for £15 million, but that Newcastle United will make a late bid to hijack the transfer of the Brazilian international. Newcastle begin their 2013/14 Premier League season against Manchester City at the Eithad Stadium on Monday and Joe Kinnear is thought to be keen to resume (when did he speak to him before or has his phone just started being answered?) talks with the 25-year-old prior to that match. Willian is one of those players who seems to have been linked with a move to English football for a long time, with Tottenham Hotspur that first club to have been credited with an interest, while the Reds have taken up the lead this summer. Newcastle came up against Anzhi in the Europa League season, but Willian was missing through injury following his 35 million Euros move to Russia from Shakhtar Donetsk in January. Willian is the second Anzhi player that Newcastle have been linked with recently, with the Russian club looking to drastically slash their wage bill. £15m would be a very good price for a player who cost twice that six months ago and the attacking midfielder, who has won two international caps for Brazil, is a player of undoubted talent. Yet like so many others NUFC are linked with I will be totally gob smacked should he arrive before September 2nd. Another player that appears to have come back on to the radar is midfielder Florian Thauvin. This piece from Nothing but Newcastle Blog typical of stuff to be read about the player... during recent weeks his club Lille would be willing to sell for 10 Million Euros (£8.5m) according to Le 10 Sport. 20-year-old Thauvin only signed a four-and-a-half deal with Lille in January, with him promptly being sent back on loan to Bastia until the end of the season. The fee was just 3.5m Euros, which would explain why Lille would be willing to sell him for nearly three times that price despite him never having played for the French club. While Lille wouldn’t be keen to sell to their Ligue 1 rivals, they could be tempted to sell to a club from the Premier League, whether that’s Newcastle or Arsenal, and make a significant profit. Thauvin was on fire at the back end of last season, scoring seven times in 12 Ligue 1 appearances for Bastia in his loan spell, and in the process showing how he’s one of the country’s hottest prospects. However, would the Gunners or Magpies really spend so much on the French youngster given the fee that he was sold for in January? The other thing that bugs me is why would The Mags want to buy another midfielder when they so obviously have problems elsewhere needing desperate attention. I have also this weekend received a number of texts from Doon Sooth, London Town, regarding Newcastle putting in a bid for Defoe from Spurs. Joe Feckinere apparently having been in touch and sold the idea of coming up here to the striker. Personally think it's complete bollox, but we shall see. One final thought is that I can only surmise the media do think Toon Fans are thick and will just about believe anything written about our Club as being truthful no matter how far fetched. Hence you get the above while not a single word comes out of Gallowgate Towers or Joe Feckinere's mouth to support any of it. By comparison over the last two months it makes Decka Lyingba****d now appear like a master transfer negotiator. Lights Oot!

APee's apparent fear of losing Cabaye The Lad before the transfer window ends became a bit closer to reality today with the news The Gooners have had a bid in the region of £10m turned down by The Toon. Does this mean the start of a bidding war between PSG and The Gooners with Man Utd waiting in the wings to pounce should Cabaye definitely be up for sale? Another one to watch over the next two weeks... Lights Oot!

With about ten days to go until the transfer windows shuts until January the pressure to bring in new faces is growing at Gallowgate Towers. That said the main news appears to be about a potential departure rather than an entrance. Reports circulating from French newspaper L’Equipe today that PSG have decided to end their recruitment drive for Yohan Cabaye. Whether it's because of the suggested £15m, £20m or £25m valuation placed on him by our most benevolent owner is another thing entirely. As a result it now leaves The Gooners as favourites to sign the player, that's if Arsene Whinger can summon up the courage to pay the fee, whatever it ends up being! Also a number of reports today suggest Gomis is again available for transfer, possibly on a free. Just the sort of deal our most benevolent owner likes. Although considering Joe Feckinere screwed up the Douglas transfer when something similar was on the cards does make me wonder is this for real. All of which is likely to lead to that most distasteful of scenarios come the 2nd of September, 'Last minute Panic Buys!'. Lights Oot!
