Here's another one, according to reports in France Newcastle are being linked with a summer move for Lille striker Gervinho. The Ivory Coast international was a January transfer target for a long list of clubs across Europe. Ligue Un table-toppers Lille desperatley wanted him to stay until the end of the season and hopefully fire them to the title. Although he is going to do that it now appears the Ivory Coast international is also keen to test himself in another country so the club have agreed to let him go in the summer. Gervinho has hit 10 goals in 21 games so far this season and Newcastle have identified him as a long-term replacement for Andy Carroll. The only thing which may scupper a deal is that the red half of scouseland are ready to disrupt Newcastle's bid by making an offer of their own for the Lille star. Having spent big already with combined £58m for Carroll and Suarez can the afford another forward player without having to sell someone else? It is understood that the French club are willing to do business for around £10m. On the positive side for The Toon may be the influence of Tiote and also the fact he would be practically assured of going straight into the side as competition is virtually nil. Everything comes back down to what The Fat Controller  will or will not do. Unfortunately if it involves making money as with Carroll the likelyhood is any player worth millions will eventually be sold. Great from a business perspective, but nowt to do with following football or supporting a Club like NUFC.  CWL |

I know we had been linked with Carlton Cole from the Hammers, but just reading article at the moment about Joe. That aside the one I'm really excited about is the talk of signing Connor Wickham from Ipswich. Now there is a kid who could set the place alight..................... CWL |

CWL There was talk of us signing him after he scored in the 2-2 draw last season at SJP. He's a good talent. How about Danny Graham from Watford? Been banging in the goals and I heard he's a NUFC fan (Heard it years before somewhere...Too lazy to check that on wiki )... |

Good shout on the Danny Graham front..................22 year old who came up through Smogs academy set up but couldn't force his way into the side. Had very good spell at Carlisle before being sold to Watford couple of years ago. Big Lad and knows how to score so could be worth spending a few million to get him. Certainly no worse than Best IMO.
