With Rooney and Carroll injured, Bent out of form, Defoe misfiring and the young ones not ready yet maybe it is time for Roy to look at other options. Crouch and Owen at Stoke provide Roy with an alternative. Crouch (22 goals in 42 games) and Owen (40 goals in 89 games) have an amazing strike rate at international level and have the experience to go with it. England need strikers and may have to reply on the old boys. Lamps after all is proving old is gold.

Mags, I understand Owen was pretty good back n the day but is he so good he can score from the treatment table?

I'd decided to swim on by the original post for obvious reasons but Broon's response deserves a round of applause. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Broon, of course taking into mind he gets games at Stoke and proves his fitness. His goal scoring record is phenomenol.
And the rest of you, shame on you. For trying to put down an innocent poster who is simply trying to reason and debate. Some of you are accumulating bad karma (and not the one on the forum). So watch out.

We'll see. . . that's a pretty decent side Stoke is up against.

Remember Owen's injury time winner against the very same opposition
