A couple of responses to the last link which i feel are quite appropriate.

Obliously there’s a reward in hiring a politically appointed manager, he’s available to repeat the mantra of the moment.
Which we are aware of is currently, brave Mike rejected those (your choice) derisory/big offers for our star players.
Yeah right you cheap f**ks !
For a side that reached fifth place and with a few quality re-inforcements and could very well be looking at a championship spot this coming season, thats just a load of crap that no-one other than an idiot would buy.
Yeah the PR department’s working overtime to attempt to get that message out.
So what’s going on then ?
Aint it obvious, why spend money to chase silverware, when we can coast as a fairly decent mid table side and still generate a profit as an adjunct to Sports Direct.
Face it, we are not on the list of sides who have consistently won things over the last fifty years, therfore dont really have a worldwide support base, that buys shirts.
Sports Direct does’nt discriminate between clubs, they sell whatever to whoever, but we do the advertising.
And for free!
Yeah the earnings of the PL accompanied by the selling off of our star players over the next few years, should take care of any Ashley accrued debts, plus he can continue the assembly line, buying cheap selling for what the market will bear, yeah right !
Good luck with that Mike!
And this one regarding Pardew...

sjt, your right there mate, he was a shortsighted appointment to say the least, but as time goes on, he is looking more and more, out of his depth.
for him to be secure this season, ashley and co, had to back him, which most knew they wouldn’t, so they are taking another gamble, on a very average manager.
his high point was last season, and i think it is going to be the inevitable downward spiral for him.
he is a manager you bring in, at a struggling club, to help you tread water, but he really has no business, being at bigger club, as his ability will never travel up in level.
a bit like a heavy handed lightweight, stepping up, to try and knock out, a cruiserweight, it aint going to happen!
we have some tough games coming up, and there is definately some unrest, on the horizon.
i can see us being embroiled in a crisis, very soon, then you will see the real alan pardew, come to the fore.
the bloke who will blame everybody else, apart from himself, like i’ve seen him many times before.
he has had a pretty lucky run, so far, lets see what he’s like, when it all turns against him, and it will, big time.
policy this, policy that, they haven’t got one santella, of a policy between them!
I cannot for the life of me think why Ashley is interested in taking the club into Europe then refusing to invest in a few faces, it makes no sense. I wonder what our"big names"think of the idea that we use our reserves to play in the Europa league "for experience"when its themselves who want to play in Europe, after all its these self same players who got us there in the first place??
