TBH I don't know an awful lot about how the transfer window works or the rule of only so many foreign players etc. But why don't they stop clubs "going" for players? Why don't players that WANT to move, make it known, on a list or something, then other clubs can look at the list and pick who they want?
It's obvious that if these rich clubs come along and waft money around, the greedy players are going to go. Or put a cap on what any club can pay for a player, level out the field a bit. Or maybe have an owner that thinks more about football than money!! 
What would happen if the player didn't want to go, can they be made to, against their will?

You hit the nail on the head again CaptM. Good point there. Also keep a minimum limit of required English players in each squad. Not home grown, I mean English born and bred. |

Capt as much as I would love it to happen just can't see it working. I'm all for making it simpler, however there's already a limit on squad size so reducing it further wouldn't necessarily improve things. I have lost three players to injury in my Fantasy team; Rooney, Aguero and Tiote. Had that been for real it leaves me bugger all cover for such key and expensive players. Also what kind of ceiling are you suggesting as not all Clubs may even be able to afford that if as I suspect it's financial. That's before you get into the selling Clubs valuations (Mikey will love that), Agents and of course the players themselves (Mr Owen comes to mind). I would welcome the idea of once a player is registered with the FA to play for a specific Club they cannot leave until the season ends. May stop some of the last minute madness but there's probably a way around that as well under employment law. CWL  |
