Boro 1 - 1 Coventry................... A Lukas Jutkiewicz header 14 minutes from time rescued a point in a 1-1 draw for Coventry against Middlesbrough at the Riverside. Marvin Emnes' first-half strike had looked enough to give the home side all three points and six consecutive victories for the first time since 1995. However Jutkiewicz's goal proved otherwise as Boro substitute Faris Haroun missed a golden chance to score the winner in the final seconds. He rose high and cannoned his header against the bar. Goalkeeper Murphy smothered the loose ball to secure the point for his side. Boro maintain their unbeaten start to this season, but drop down to fourth in the table. No pigpen this week............... CWL

Transfer Deadline Day turned into something of a none event for Boro as deals went on elsewhere, particularly among Premiership clubs. The only transaction being a loan move of Jonathan Franks to Oxford United until January. I can only surmise that any incoming players depended on the move of Matthew Bates, a target for Swansea City. From reports I have read it's believed that Brendan Rodgers pushed up his offer to a million – Mogga wanted two, and the impasse meant the Swans ultimately went elsewhere, winding up with Lens centre back, Darnel Situ, at an initial outlay of £250k. Matty needed to leave for cash in order for Boro to make their own offer, which was a suggested million-pound bid for Coventry striker, Lukas Jutkiewicz. When the Swans didn’t buy, the other deal was also off. There was also plenty of rumour circulating about interest from Premier League clubs (Villa, Bolton) in Rhys Williams and (QPR) Marvin Emnes. However, finally turning out to be no more than that. So not the most exciting of days for The Boro. Then again for many supporters the fact they didn't lose anyone from the squad which has started the season so brightly is probably the most satisfying outcome of all. CWL

No chance for Boro for promotion this time coz brighton and liecester are going up along with maybe WHU. But hope you're back soon roma Injuries, suspensions and a small squad will prevent Brighton from attaining automatic promotion. Play offs is about the best they can expect in my opinion. Leicester have still to get going under Sven despite having money to spend and a big squad. The pressure may all be too much and cost them in the end. West Ham should be up among the top teams all season simply because Spam will grind out results any way he can. Southampton are the ones to watch for me................Young side that plays good football. Mogga just has to keep doing what he is and as Roma points out hope they get lucky with one or two kids coming through. CWL
